Created in 2000/2001, this committee is responsible for coordinating a mentoring program which includes: |

| 2) Mentoring for prospective Board Members |
| 3) Mentoring for first year Board Members |

| Mentoring for Assessors was established to identify all newly Appointed and Elected Assessors, offering one on one professional assistance and moral support, as requested, on an as needed basis. Once a request is received the committee will assign a mentor. Support from the mentor will assist the new Assessor before and between their formalized education. At the same time this program provides a means to further implement the tenants stated in Article I, Section 2 of the Association's Constitution and Bylaws: ". . . improve the standards of assessment practice; to promote professionalism; to provide a clearing house for the collection and distribution of useful information relating to the assessment of real estate . . . ". It is the hope of the Executive Board that the mentoring program will be an integral part in the development of the next generation of assessors. |
| Mentoring for prospective Board Members was established to assist interested individuals understand the purpose and responsibilities of serving on the Executive Board of the New York State Assessors Association. Interested individuals will be assigned a Board Member to discuss these issues and the prospective member is encouraged to attend certain functions. |
| Mentoring for first year Board Members was established to assist new Board Members once they have been elected to the Board. With the diverse number of issues handled by the Board, bringing a new Board Member up to speed is essential. |
