Fulton County Results

As many of you know, Fulton County voters were asked this past Tuesday to decide if they would be willing to abolish the position of local assessor in favor of county-wide assessing.  Obviously, we, as a state association, never believed that such a move would be in the best interest of the local taxpayer.  We wrote to the local newspapers serving Fulton County, we called into a local radio talk show dedicated to the subject, and we utilized this website in an effort to present the voters with a more balanced picture of the issue at hand.

But the real credit goes to the Fulton County Assessors' Association and their efforts to educate the public.  Their efforts were exceptional and they deserve our collective praise for a job well done.

As Wednesday, November 9th, the unofficial results were 7,673 against county-wide assessment and 2,121 in favor!  That's better than 3-to-1! When the results become official, we'll pass them along.
